I aim to empower.
My Story:
I am dedicated to supporting seniors as they navigate the emotional and practical complexities of aging. This stage of life can be challenging, and many older adults simply seek clarity, confidence, and a sense of stability in their daily lives.
My goal is to help adult children and organizations reimagine how we engage with older adults—by fostering communication that emphasizes respect, preserves autonomy, and offers guidance as they face important transitions.
Our research-based approach, widely recognized in the healthcare field for its effectiveness in facilitating change, has been thoughtfully adapted to meet the unique needs of aging individuals. It is designed to support seniors as they explore their options, make informed decisions, and move forward with confidence.
Most of us typically communicate:
I believe in this instead:
- By telling people what to do
- By taking the side of change (Surprisingly, this does NOT help people change, it has the opposite effect)
- By focusing on the benefits of change
- By talking at Senior citizens
- Evoke from Seniors THEIR feelings, ideas thoughts on change
- Focus on helping them create their own plan
- Listen more than talk
- Understand the right stage of change to provide suggestions
This values based approach (and Evidence based practice) of Motivational Interviewing changes the way we interact with others. Offering communication that is filled with respect, curiosity, empowerment and support.

It’s an innovative and trendsetting skillset helping people make values aligned decisions about their lives.
I can help in 2 ways: Teaching you how to communicate more effectively about change, or you can have me have effective change conversations with your loved one.
Meet me:
Tami:
Tami holds a Bachelor of Science in Speech Communication from Oregon State University. She began her career in senior living in 2010 and quickly developed a deep passion for the industry. Committed to supporting older adults in thriving—not merely surviving—as they age, Tami has dedicated her work to enhancing the quality of life for seniors and their families.
In 2011, she began training in Motivational Interviewing, an evidence-based approach designed to facilitate meaningful conversations around change. Over the years, she has developed expertise in applying this method to the unique challenges and transitions associated with aging. Her work in senior living has demonstrated significant outcomes, attributed mainly to her emphasis on key skills such as active listening, fostering autonomy, and cultivating curiosity.
In 2024, Tami launched her own coaching practice to bring the principles of Motivational Interviewing to families and senior living organizations. Her mission is to help all parties improve communication, foster deeper connections, and create clarity more effectively during the often complex transitions of aging.
